Double Bass Peter Washington Strings

Hello to the forum!

Did anyone know what strings Peter Washington use in Bill Charlap's album called Stardust (1997) . I love in general his sound . Particular in this album I love the dark, but sustained sound that he has. I am ready to buy new strings in my bass, so if anyone knows, would be ge appreciated!

Pretty sure he used a Spirocore gut mix but I could be wrong. Not sure which guts or gauge

He's used a few things over the years. When I saw him with Bill Charlap last September he was using La Bella black nylon strings. He also used Velvet strings for a while. I think there are a few threads here on this topic.

I think you'll find that Peter sounds great no matter what bass or strings he uses. It's Peter, not the strings.

I’ve seen Peter playing two basses but mostly a nice violin cornered bass with a light/amber? finish. According to an old article from maybe 20 years ago he was playing D’addario Hybrid Helicores and before that La Bella black nylon strings. Then for years he was playing the Velvet Animas until Velvet went out of business.
About a year ago a saw a live streaming concert he was playing and he was using Evah Pirazzi. Then bassfiddlesteve went to see him not too long ago in NYC and said he was using La Bella’s black nylon.
