As a representative of the website Talkbass.com I have been appointed to present you our ideas for basses. These are ideas present by people on the market for your basses, simple market research brought to you. The ideas are not drastic skews like fanned frets or a three pickuped thirty-six fretted bass; they are simple improvements we think would sell a lot more, basses we would buy they day they came out, basses we have been waiting for. Without further introduction here are out ideas.
One of the most popular ideas was a fretless precision bass. Most people wanted unlined, precision/jazz combo or just the regular p combo and in the classic vibe line. Other basses we decided in the classic vibe line is two more additions to the precision bass. One would be 1962 reissue-esque, sunburst with a tortoise shell pickguard and the other one be a precision with in surf or sea foam green with the a maple fretboard. Another big bass people are dying for is a Squier passive, precision five string with just a precision pickup.
As for more signature models, people have been wanting a budget Mark Hoppus signature jazz bass, in shell pink as well as TV yellow also a Tommy Shannon signature bass, a sunburst precision with a blocked and bound jazz neck. More colors added to the Mike Dirnt bass would sell also.
This leads me to colors in general. Many basses would sell more if they were offered in more colors. The VM series for one, offer the jazz in black or maybe even white as well as offering the VM telecaster bass in traditional colors. Even if you were to put different colors on the VM or CV, or like quality basses, and label them as something else. People are wanting so see grain, putting ash or alder top laminates on basses and offering them in sunburst and natural. Everybody is leaning towards purples, whether they be sparkle or solid, and greens. Everybody wants shell pink too.
