Petition for Squier bass

Wow. GC had em on sale over here for $250 cause they had 2 sales at once.

You could get a used MIA for that!

And rene... I want a fretless p or p/j without ebonol or what ever that cheep stuff they used on the VM jazz so I got yours.

Total rip, The neck felt nice, but the Fretboard was insanely thin, basswood and tin can bridge. no thanks.

I'm going to go with a hohner b2adb. hey that's an idea. bring on the headless squiers!.

I'd be satisfied if they would use pau ferro as a cheaper solution than ebony.
(at least, I think it is cheaper)

And I'm hoping for unlined.
In the cheapie range of basses there isn't much unlined to choose from.

Sorry, don't mean to sound like a snob. :) But now that I'm used to unlined I don't want a lined again.

IMO unless it has inlays it looks stupid (jaco's bass vs the VM)

Yeah, I forgot to tell that. I don't think anyone whos asked for a fretless pbass has asked for lined. I'm looking for something that can save me $2k on a tony franklin. Something that I could epoxy and if I screw up on it wouldn't be that big of a deal. My sterling is unlined and thats how I like it! And I think you're right, too many un-unlined cheap alts for a fretless bass

How about a jazz with an American Deluxe body? You know the one, with the slightly smaller body and a deeper cutaway. That bodystyle looks so much better than a "normal" jazz body. Somehow it seems more balanced, aesthetically. Plus you've got the two extra frets there.

I don't care that much for preamps in basses, so I'd like Squier to keep this one passive.

Finishes... Maybe... Black body, b/w/b pg, maple blocked neck and black headstock? Or even better: Sunburst, w/b/w pg, bound rosewood fretboard with block inlays. Though that might be pushing it for "just a Squier".

Hey, that's what I said I wanted on a P-bass! A P-bass with black blocks is a sexy thing indeed. Especially if the body was black and a black pickguard, with all black hardware. Badass...

Eyyy, great minds think alike, eh? nudge nudge? wink wink? :D

Though I disagree about the black hardware. On a bass as black as this, you'd need some chrome to give it some depth, break things up a little. I say leave the stealth to the planes 'n' stuff.

How about a Squier version of the red double pickup "Tele" style bass ... like the one in this picture, taken at the 08 Summer NAMM show.

... I know they showed a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], but it's a little pricey @ 6k

You know what's funny about this is GC has it listed as one of their Top Sellers! Who the hell is is dropping 6K on one of these?
