Phil Jones Briefcase in Tweed

i lost the link....but it kind of went like this:

Strip (the amp. heat gun helps)
Sand off old glue (belt sander works fast)
Fill big holes (bumps show)
dry fit tolex and trim
glue on wood and tolex....let dry to tacky
carefully wrap amp...seems best to start from top, wrapping sides (once more the heat gun helped get real smooth)
fit corners (trimming overlap with sharp scissors and razor)
varnish if tweed
groove.

Im not too handy compared with some of the obvious crafts-people here, but it only took me a weekend.

I do suggest you do a practice run on cabinet you don't care about.

hmm... Peavey TNT 130... the T shall be for Tweed!

how did you deal with the sander dust?

I take the amp completely apart--amp, speakers, etc. everything out. The chassis on most combos will slide right out when you remove screws

sander dust will kill an amp!

I remember my parents having cool tweed luggage when I was a little one. So why not do a PJ Briefcase in old-school, goin' on a trip, tweed.

I had done an SWR as a weekend project and it turned good. I love the sound of the PJB with my Rob Allens, so heat-gun in hand I went to work...

I thought the SWR looked good, but this is sweet. You seem to have perfected the technique, and the tweed suits the PJB aesthetics perfectly.
