All of the posts I found on this topic we’re old. Thinking maybe some newer adhesives have come around.
I traded for a pair of C8’s knowing one cabinet had one, maybe two blown speakers. During the troubleshooting phase I narrowed it down to one speaker. Watching the speaker, I noticed the surround was loose and flopping around with each bass note… causing the “blown speaker” sound. What glue is best for the rubber surrounds on PJ’s 5” speakers? I figure it’s gotta be stout with the speakers being so small. New speakers are $75 plus shipping. I’d rather try glueing it first, before buying a new speaker.
Have any of you glued the surrounds back down and it actually hold up? Trying to figure out how to apply even pressure around the surround while the glue dries.
