Phil Jones Double Four line out to another PJD4.

I've been using a Phil jones Double Four since 2014 that has been working great for me, but for larger gigs, I want to get more, so I bought a second PJD4 recently to line out to it from the first one. I just tested it and found that only the second one puts out sound, but if I disconnect the line out, the first one has sound.

I called Phil Jones, but she said she has to ask their engineer how it's supposed to work. I always thought that line out is to add more sound, not switch it to the other box.

WAIT: Just talked to Phil himself and it turns out that I didn't have the volume controls right, too high on the second one, too low on the first one.

It's definitely louder and very bassy, have to tweak the EQ, but it is working.

Stacking 2 Preamps & 2 Eq's like that makes things way more complicated when making quick EQ & volume changes during a gig.

Two other connection options I'd prefer using would be:

1 - Using a good ABY pedal in-between your bass and each of the 2 amps normal inputs.

2 - Or simply patching the 1st amps Line Out into the Auxiliary Input jack of the 2nd amp with a (1/4" male TS to 1/8" male TRS) cord like this:

I used to run the line out from my D4 to a powered cab (QSC K10). Worked great.

I assume the EQ is by-passed on the second amp and controlled only on the first amp. I have the adapters to do that, will give it a try.

Yes, any input to the AUX port will not be effected by the EQ of the 2nd amp.

I finally got the cable from B&H to go from the PJD4 line out 1/4" mono to the Aux In 1/8" stereo on the second PJDE4 and it works. Now I only need to adjust the EQ on the primary PJD4. Going to use the rig this Sunday at the WLA Farmers' Market for my blues harmonica and a Shaker Mad Cat harmonica mic.

Has anyone tried D4 line out into a GK MBP powered cab? I'd need to use a 1/4" to XLR cable, I have one that's TRS, but not TS.
