Photo quality in Avatar/ad header posts

No matter what I've tried, my photos have LESS resolution when reduced to this size. They look lousy. It appears I'm not the only one this is happening to. Is there a solution to this?

By ad header posts, are you talking about the classifieds thread thumbnails? Your avatar looks fine, but I can see how your classifieds threads have less-than-stellar thumbnail qualities.

The key here is that currently the classifieds thumbnails are SQUARE. Any image uploaded that's not square not only has to be scaled, but it has it's aspect ratio changed. That messes with the image. If the first pic you upload to your classifieds ad is square, it'll look much better.

That said, I think we need to make the classifieds thumbnails look better - maybe by having a rectangular thumbnail instead of square, and maybe having them be a bit larger. I'll look into this.
