Photobooth or kodak recorder?

Hi!!!

I want to start posting instructional videos on youtube. I am wondering what I should use to record myself.

I asked a good friend of mine, Simon Daigle, to tell me what he was using to record himself. He very simply uses his "photobooth" app on his mac computer.

You can see him there:

So I tried it. But I have 2 options. I can use the "photobooth" app on my computer, and I also have a kodak recorder.

I played a simple link on both videos to be able to compare. I just wanted to see how its looks and how it sounds. Now...I want to know which one you think looks and sounds the best.

This is the video of me trying out the photobooth app:

ANd this is me trying out the kodak recorder:

I did not modify anything in between the 2 videos: same tone, same volume, same everything.

Let me know which one you think I should use!!!

Thanks!

Photobooth is a great, fun, little utility. But there is no question that the Kodak camera looks and sounds much better. I have some nice NHT bookshelf speakers hooked up to my computer, relatively hifi for a computer, and the Kodak sounded noticeably better. Less room reflections, better frequency response in the low and low mids.

Plus I'm always bugged by reversed images (photobooth)

Have fun, JBY
