Photon VS ADAM "stingray 4h"

Hey guys this is my first post. I am a lifelong guitar player and recently upgraded my bass from a squire to Stingray 4h which is great. I need an all in one solution for late night playing. I really like the idea of getting the photon or the adam. Does anyone have experience on which one works better with a stingray special?

I see the Adam is on sale for $399. The Photon seems less extreme and more versatile though. I mostly play rock/metal. Nothing crazy progressive though. I tend to like old school sounds on steroids.

Last question has anyone compared the Ultra to the Photon. Does the simulation capture the analog version of the pedal?

This is a pretty good comparison of the Ultra and Photon:

I prefer the Photon due to its better low gain sounds. The Adam has one of the best high gain distortions I've heard, but high gain isn't really my thing.
