Photoshop help please... (band logo help)

It's been discussed before, but photoshop is the wrong tool for the job. If you want to use Adobe, the Illustrator is the package for this kind of work. Photoshop is for painting, and editing PHOTO's (there's a clue in the name). Trying to do graphic design/layout in photoshop is always going to look sucky in print.

How do you find out if a font is copyrighted?
Thanks for the tips. Is there another software you would recommend other than Illustrator? Any freeware?
Jazzin' probably knows what font it is (and perhaps where he got it from)... Mostly you can just google the fontname and you'll find it
Not everyone is copyrighted (tho most are) and that does make it illegal to use in a commercial way.. So you can use it on your 'hey I'm having a birthday party! everybody come!' but you can't use it on stuff you make money out of.
All fonts will have copyright - however the fact that they're out their, rather than still being on the creators hard disc sugguests they've licensed it for use. The font you're using to read this is copyright (probably MS or Adobe), but you have a license to use. It's unlikey that Jazzin would have a font installed on his machine that he's not allowed to use in more or less any document... (on the other hand if you're planning on world domination, and distributing this logo for commercial purposes it's worth checking the terms of the original font license - it could be prohiied for commercial use or something odd).
Software wise I use a Mac, and like Omnigraffle for this kind of thing. It's no where near as powrfull as illustrator, but it's great for simple layouts like this. Prepare your images in photoshop, then drag and drop them into Omnigraffle (at full res) for layout, and adding text and such. There's a demo version that is fully functional, but restricts you to about 20 objects - enough for this sort of thing.

Here's a link on how to make your own font, doesn't seem to hard, you can always get an artist or a graphic designer from tb to help you.

Ah, you missed a killer show. I highly recommend cheers for a gig spot. Great place to play. We had a blast.
You mean the squiggly line I posted at the start of thread? I just attached that as an idea. I don't think that is something worth actually using.
