Was going to suggest a b/w/b layered pg too.

Here's a rather poor attempt to show a layered pg.

You know, the more I look at your picture, the more I realize the pickguard isn't cut correctly. I'm assuming it's a BWB pickguard, you can't see the white on the edge as much as most black pickguards I've seen so you can't make out a white outline that would certainly help in this case and define it against the black color in your finish. It looks like the edges are cut at too deep of an angle, should be angled in such a way that the white shows. This is what I mean.
Here's a black pickguard that's cut correctly.

Actually, it's a single-ply - all black. I agree with you that a 3-ply (black/white/black) would help significantly. I've even wondered whether the edges of the guard could be painted white. But I don't think it would adhere well on the plastic.

This is one of Fender's limited edition 60th Anniversary basses. They tried to combine vintage features with modern features. The single-ply guard was a throwback to the '51 P; but you'll notice it has a "Strat-style" headstock rather than a Tele-style. Also has the "High Mass Vintage Bridge". It's really a great P-Bass. I just don't like how the single-ply black blends right into the black edge of the burst. It looks great on the Blackguard Blonde version of the 60th Anniversary P. Great contrast with the blonde body.

YEAH!!! That makes a big difference. Looks like a "Cowpoke", but that contrast is definitely an improvement! Thanks!

Absolutely agree. It look great with that black pickguard- great job on the photoshop CallusedFinger.
