The way those two combine outrageous swing with such openness, elasticity and surrealism is mind blowing - definitely one of the greatest bass/drums combinations of all time... There's some trio tracks on 'Dear John C' too - 'Everything Happens to Me' is particularly great

Wow, I haven't heard this record! Amazing tone in addition to the groove! The bass is recorded beautifully.
