PICK ONE NEW HEAD MESA OR MARK BASS ?

Aside from the tone, the power and the great deal I got on it, the coolest thing was definitely the five year TRANSFERABLE warranty. That is huge. I was really surprised to read that in the owner's manual (yeah, I actually read the owner's manual, you wanna make a big thing outta it?). Especially after hearing the service guy tell me that Fender's five year non- transferrable warranty recently fort reduced to two years. Pretty lame, Fender. I am definitely a Mesa convert now.

Reading the manuals makes my heart "skip a beat" (there's certainly a lot of good information in the manual, something that we are working on making better and better.)

Mesa, by reputation, but honestly have not tried either one.

I had a Markbass LMT800 and now own a Mesa D800 and a D800+. IMHO there out a no comparison in tone and craftsmanship, the Mesa blows away Markbass.

I've played thru both examples, I own Mesa. Not the Carbine, but an M-pulse in a 2x12 Venture combo. The approach is a little different for the two, but it's still Mesa tone!! The Carbine is definitely a more modern sounding amp than the M-pulse. I've never really warmed up to the MarkBass stuff, & I've tried all of it (our small-market GC carries little else). Too...colored...artificial...forced? Totally subjective, of course, but to my ears the Mesa stuff just sounds so right. I'm a bit of a combo amp slut, & the Venture is my favorite, ever. The Carbine I played was thru an old-school (non-neo) cab, & yes, yummy! Mesa quality is everything you've heard

Don’t spend $100 on GC Pro coverage. The Mesa already has a 5 year warranty. GC doesn’t have a service department, they’ll just get in the middle and send the amp back too Mesa. You’ll always do better dealing with Mesa directly.

Congrats on your purchase! Welcome to the Mesa club! I have never played through a Mesa product that I disliked the tone on. I play through a Mesa Bass 400 head and a self designed 410 cab. It just sounds so right!
