Pick players!!!

I wanna know who the pick players on this forum are.
And I wanna know what kind of pick, how you hold it, if you only use a pick or if you alternate.

When I do use a pick I use a Dunlop .38 Nylon and I hold it between my index and middle finger and I can alternate between various techniques(slapping,thumping,plucking,tapping etc.) and never have to put the pick down.

When I pick it's a 1.00mm Blue Tortex Triangle and I hold it with a three finger technique... index and middle finger and my thumb.

Probably about 85% fingers though.

I've never thought to do it that way.

I use Dunlop 1.0 Nylon I pinch it between my thumb and my index/middle finger...

i use all kinds of picks for different things, but my main one is a dunlop tortex .88 (green one). i grip it between index and thumb. i use it when the song calls for it. i mostly use fingers, though.

Good ol' Dunlop Tortex Blue Triangle 1.00mm, and I hold it inbetween my thumb and the side of my index finger.

When I play with a pick, I use the Dunlop Purple Tortex

I only play guitar with a pick, I can't get the feel of the bass strings right. But when I do use a pick, it's a 2mm Dunlop Big Stubby.

I used to play more with a pick but I'm know in my "fingers phase" I still use it with certain songs and I try to dedicate 1 hour of practicing daily. Back on topic I use Dunlop .73 mm yellow tortex picks and I grab it like a guitar player , holding it between my thumb and the side of my index finger .

I use a Fender style heavy or extra heavy. I try to hold it like Carol Kaye because it doesn't hurt my hand that way. Between thumb and forefinger, pick by the neck alternating, doesn't look cool like bashing out downstrokes, but it doesn't hurt.

Regular old Fender heavy pics... I like the plastic of the "Moto" series one's best. I hold it just like a pick... and I alternate. I actually play better with fingers, but the pick sounds right for rock (to me).

Play fingerstyle about 75% of the time, pick 25%. Dunlop green picks

Ernie Ball medium nylons. I use a pick on probaly 50 of the 60 songs we do.

Dunlop, the green ones, .73 I think. I have only/always played with a pick, it was "how it's done" when I started. I hold the pick between my thumb and index, with just a small bit of the point hitting the string. Since I mostly play Rics and Fenders, I rest my hand on the pickup/cover and pick between it and the neck.

Exclusively a pick player over the last year using Dunlop Gator Grip 71mm (purple). I use worn picks, hold it with thumb/index/middle fingers, playing on the back curves with the tip pointed toward my palm.

I've been working on fingerstyle playing for a couple of months now....good thing, our song library for our current 1 hour 45 minute night is loaded with songs that don't sound good with a pick. Just counted, half I play fingerstyle, half with a pick.

I use a pick about 40% of the time.

Dunlop Gator Grip 1.14mm ('blue)

Held between my thumb and the side of my index finger.

I mostly play with my fingers.

When I do use a pick, it's a Med. Not sure what decimal that works out to.

I hold pretty much the whole pick in my hand and play with maybe 3/16" sticking out between my fingers. I do alternate, like when we do Kenny Wayne Sheppard's "Slow Ride". That one has this constant driving bass going on that I find easier with a pick. For the most part, I use upstrokes when I pick though.

I play fingerstlye most all the time , but I think it never hurts to be able to play several different ways . When I play with a pic its a black ernie ball from the House of Blues , it was a gift awhile back. I try to spend time practiceing playing with a pick and using downstrokes with my thumb to get a phat tone.
