Pick tone without the pick?

Like the title says, I know it sounds a bit silly but I want to know what you guys consider the closest way to achieve a pick tone without using one.

Not just in terms of technique, but strings, tone, pickup blend, and anything else...

Thanks!

Nope, it’s technique. Use the tip of your fingers - once they become callused and you learn how to attack the strings you can make it sound like a pick.

I've considered using finger picks.

For me it's not an issue of not being able to hold on to the pick, it's an issue of being able to play with any dexterity whatsoever while using one.

I can play faster with one finger than with a pick, and with greater coordination.

For some reason, me and picks just don't work well together.

When you play with a pick where do you put your hand? Do you float around the pick-up area, or do you anchor it on the bridge? I rest mine on the bridge and I can play pretty good like that. I almost can't play the "floating hand" way. If your gonna try resting it on the bridge watch Gene Simmons play. That who "taught" me. I think Nikki Six plays like this too.

Just practice until it becomes comfortable. It shouldn't take that long. Maybe a day or two. If you can learn a bunch of songs and stuff you can learn to do this.
