Pick users i need help finding a pick

Tortex. I like the lightest gauges, personally. I hold them closer to the tip.

+1 For Tortex medium and light gauge picks. I have currently settled down with the yellow ones (0,73mm), but I am jumping back and forth the orange (0,60mm) and green (0,88mm) depending on the tunings I play. Usually the lower the tuning, the thinner the pick since I use the same string gauge.

Regarding the shape. I really like the big triangle but this depends on the amount of grip you need. Also to my ears it seems that the bigger the pick, the clickier the attack.

I've used standard green Tortex .88s for years. However, I just tried some Ultex Sharp .91s that my guitarist had and love them. The sharp point gives them just a little more snap to the attack and they feel really good.

I have used the max grip picks alot and like them but am looking for something else.
Looking for a pick that has less of the high attack and more of the purcussive finger like tones.
Any good one?

For less attack try a heavy (1.5 - 3mm) blunt pick.
Dunlop Jazztones 207
Dunlop Americana
Dunlop Primetone Semi-Round
These are all blunt and should be fairly easy to find. The Dunlop Jazztones 207 work well for me. You can also use the rounded shoulder of a regular shaped pick.

A lot of the sound comes from using a relaxed grip where you finish the stroke by letting the pick slip a bit rather than following through with a lot of force from the thumb on a down stroke or the index finger on an up stroke.

The three on top are my faves. Acetate 1.52 clay tons work great the dunlop americana is the best super easy to use and durable. The big stubby towards the bottom sounds like a thumb.

I know someone before questioned the durability of felt but I happen to like them. I use the Micks Picks felt version. I also use flats, which probably also helps a lot with durability and sound.

Dunlop Tortex .50 . (The red one). I can swear by this plectrum n it's nimbleness makes jumping strings and fast picking all that easier. On another not just go to your nearest Guitar shop n spend an hour or two trying em all! What's great for some is a nightmare for others.
