Larry Junstrom was a founding member of Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1964 - 1971 The band was called The Noble Five, and then, One Percent before changing the name to Leonard Skinner, which grew into Lynard Skynard, and, then finally, the band settled on Lynyrd Skynyrd. Larry Junstrom appears on a recording as One Percent of the song "Need All My Friends" in 1968 while the band was still called The One Percent. They changed the band name shortly after that.

I'm from Jax. Junstrom was the bass player for 38 Special. Yeah, he was an early member of Skynyrd and can be found on at least one archival recording - but he wasn't on any of their albums or anything. He was well out of the band before they got signed.

I am a big fan of Larry Junstrom and have played more .38 Special songs than I can count. I always liked his bass playing and he did lots of cool riffs in their songs.

In Jacksonville, Skynyrd is like a religion. 38 Special - maybe not as much. But they were such a big deal in the 80s. I always thought they were funny because they had two drummers but sounded like they had only one drummer. I never understood why they had two drummers.

Funny you mention the two drummer thing about .38 Special. I always thought the same thing. They should have put more effort into sounding like two drummers as some other bands did.

No matter what, I like Skynyrd, .38 Special, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet, Allman Brothers, Hydra, and many other Southern Rock bands.

I'd probably appreciate them more if I had grown up somewhere else. I like the Allman Brothers okay - at least their earlier stuff. I used to be friends with Barry Oakley's daughter, but she's mental.

I’m talking about First and Last, which does have Gregg T Walker, but not Junstrom, through Street Survivors.
