I knew a couple about 10 years ago who made a three-wheeler out of a VW Beetle. I sat in it once and realized just how dangerous it would be to have anything go wrong while driving it (basically a front half of a motorcycle attached to the back have of the Bug chassis).
Back in the mid '80s we rented a Mustang in the same color blue and year for an afternoon, but, convertible. Got it at Rent-A-Wreck in Santa Monica.

It's nice to see that you guys on the other side of the pond have an appreciation for the brute force and ignorance that made up the American muscle car. Big engine, questionable suspension and rock hard bias ply tires..... what a combination.
I know exactly where that photo was taken, the model is a give away. This is US 1 heading south as you enter the town of Laguna beach Ca., its about a half mile or so north of the city limits. Until about 20 years ago there was a small community of folks living on that beach in campers, city finally annexed it for the state park and moved them all out.

Impossible not to like American cars especially from the "golden" decades of Detroit. If I had to choose only one I would probably pick the 1955 Belair. No way Italians (for example) could have designed this body!
