Picked the wrong bass or my hands need more training?

I've developed that classical guitarist thing which oddly enough is really hard to explain..but you kinda stretch and flatten and then move ur hand all at the same time..kinda weird but works very well indeed.
Now THERE'S a different perspective!
Stretching is some how good for a classical guitarist....but BAD for a bassist?
Why?
Why the double standard?

Anyone knows how's the B-E-A-D tuning on a short scale bass? I think I read somewhere that because of the shorter scale you wouldn't get a solid B hence the reason why you don't find any short scale 5 string basses is this true?
Sort of... The scale, gauge and tuning combine to make the tension of the string. I think the main issue is that a Low B at that scale would either require a huge string for decent tension... or be flopping all over with a normal gauge. It also depends on what you mean by short scale. 33" probably isnt too much but if youre talking one of those little basses... it probably wouldnt give good results

Talking about a 30" with the proper gauges of a B-E-A-D set: 65-80-100-132

BEAD on 34 or 35 scale, and then use the forbiden capo to play in the fifth position, now you have a short scale bass about 30"?
Nope I do not but thanks for suggesting the forbiden capo :)

And for those who are curious about tuning a short scale bass to B-E-A-D it's not an issue: found out Ibanez makes a 5 string with a 28.6" scale!!!

I'm going to learn what Jaco Pastorius meant when he said "the only shortcut is the long way"
