To be honest the original 3 point is a fine bridge. I was able to set things exactly how I wanted without any drama. However , the Hipshot does have more control , easier to adjust , easier to palm mute. I like the look of the Hipshot better. Also have put one on my SG bass and LesPauls DC Jr. I have a Rumblekat that still has the 3 point.
Edit … the only thing to watch on the 3 point , if you drop the nose too much it can cause the two back bolts to lift.
