Pickguard color for a black P bass

I chose other. I’ve had two black P basses. Both had gold pickguards.

My top two choices as well. Black if the neck has a vintage tint, white pearloid if the neck has more of a natural finish.

Closest found is this Roger Water Sig,which has a one ply black but looks gray in this pic.

I was thinking maybe not quite as dark as that, but matte black...sure, why not?

Tort is better on a rosewood board.
Black will look excellent.
I chose other- gold anodized. I've become really fond of that look lately.

OK ........recently got a Maple neck black P bass-with a white pick guard and I’m not really fond of that combination. I am leaning towards replacing it with a red tort but also thinking about a cream color to match the maple neck or a black one. Wondering what you all think

Nah..... as mentioned earlier it's just a blk/wht/blk guard that I took to with a red sharpie. It's known as the @Malak the Mad sharpie models. It works quite well.

OK, thanks for the info. I own a Fender Noir P-bass, and someone mentioned in a thread that those basses had a "modded with a sharpie" look. Now I understand the reference.

The first time I tried it, it was for a Fender Blacktop Jazz, turning it from this…

…to this! (A marked improvement, I must say! )

Later on, I tried my "DIY Sharpie Mod™" technique using a blue marker which yielded a curious and rather cool effect. It created a blue-to-purple color shift, or as I like to call it, a "scarab effect".

At a recent gig my daughter was playing it and even the wife commented on how much the red caught the lights...... looked really cool!

Okay, that gives me a serious case of the "warm & fuzzies"! It does my heart good to hear my cheap-ass, DIY trick actually spawned some positive results. Thanks for the shout-outs, BAG!
