Is there some way to fill a hole in a pickguard (black) with the same material or something that would blend with it?

I'm working on a friend's Gibson Sonex (made 1980-'84), so getting a new pickguard is out of the question. There's a mini-toggle hole drilled in it that I'm going to have to utilize for a coil tap switch or something just because I don't want to leave an ugly open hole. Also, I glued some chips of it back together and buffed the glue joints with a plastic-bristle Dremmel brush and wore a pit in it! It's no big deal to him, but I'm a compulsive perfectionist...:help:

Any help would be appreciated.

Out of the question?

If vintage is an issue, package the parts and save them for future sale and use the replacement as a wearing part.
