Picking from 2 P basses in 2 shops with different setups

I see you made your choice. I have been known to enter a music store with at least one Allen wrench on hand to casually lower the saddles into a remotely playable position . I was going to suggest whichever one sounds best, but I'm sure there would have been differences in amplification etc.

I am about to buy a new Fender American Pro ii Precision bass and have 2 options that is making my decision tricky.

Option 1 - an Olympic white with maple neck with an ok setup, I will sort it out properly indeed I get it.

Option 2 - 3 tone sunburst with rosewood neck with an abysmal setup, too much relief and an absurdly high bridge that made playing it in store a waste of time. Also had a bone dry fretboard.

They're the same price, it's from 2 stores in the same chain.

Originally I had the 3TS colour in mind and previously have always had rosewood bases and gats.

I vibed with the OW bass but slightly prefer the colour of the 3TS so do I go with the one I vibed with in store or do I get the 3TS as it's the same model and should play as well once setup properly?

I tried a bunch of different p basses earlier and went with the am pro ii due to the neck shape and sound.

Assume for the moment that both play perfectly and indistinguishable from each other. What would you chose based on finish and fretboard? Whatever that one is, have the store do a good setup on it to YOUR liking, confirm that it is, and buy that one. Or if no clear choice is easily discernable, wait. Buy NOTHING. Something that you feel you MUST HAVE will eventually come along. It is a Precision Bass, after all, and at this point, there must literally be A MILLION of these things in at least 1,000 different colors and fretboard combinations floating around on the planet.

I remember telling someone how I preferred rosewood fingerboards and then realizing the two I was using the most both had maple necks.

I still think I prefer rosewood , but it really doesn't seem to matter much.
