Have been looking at a variety of pickups for a soapbar bassed bass. Presently and working with a range of j basses and while I enjoy their tone looking for close to the old school funk tone. Deep powerful with nice harmonics. Choices I am looking at are Bartolini BD4 series, Aguiar DCB, as well as Aguilar Super Singles. Playing type I work
with anything from older JB , Jaco, to Stanley, ect. I enjoyed hearing some of the tracks of the Super singles for their solid lows and mids but have also been impressed with the tracks with the DCB pups as well. Always been a fan of the barts too but just getting some real opinions here. Any thoughts.
