Pickup magnets

Hi, I just purchased a 2006 MIM Fender Jazz Deluxe Active Bass. I had a SR 400 Ibanez before. Anyway, I have the noiseless pickups and the covers have holes to allow the posts to be exposed. For some reason the posts that are under the A and D string are up pretty high say .060/.070 and the other magnets are approx. .020 above the plastic covers. Should they be at different heights and if not how do you adjust them. I have a standard bridge if I put on a Badass II would it really make a difference. Thank you for your time.

Often they are designed with the poles at different heights for ideal pickup of the movements of the specific strings. Some pups have adjustable poles, but some are fixed at their staggered heights. I'm not sure whether yours are adjustable.
