Pickup selector switch cleaning

I’ve got a 1980 Ibanez. Lots of crunchy sound from the pickup selector switch.

Taken apart, I see a fair amount of resinous crud around the contacts!

Should I use rubbing alcohol or WD-40 to clean it off? I have both handy.

Thanks,
Cheers,
Doug

Electrical contact cleaner is the right stuff. If you don't have it,try a pencil eraser. I would try alcohol before WD40. You don't want anything that will make more stuff stick to it.
