Pickups for custom bass

Hey, I'm building a bass in a month, and I cant decide on which pickups to use. This is my first bass and I'm really confused on the pickups, and the electronics actually. I'm making a neck-through-body design and it will be made out of maple and a walnut body. I like playing slap a lot, if that helps.

for beasty highend slap sound i recomend a delano ceramic MC4FE it´s one of the most impresive pickups in combination with a split coil jazz alnico to give you a nice thumb pop sound and a audere or a retro deluxe
the new bartolini CB series are very impresive too and you have a very nice and agressive slaps...to me delano is the best option

Have you read the pickup comparo threads stickied at the top of this forum?

Try Villex. IMHO they will give you many great sounds to play with. Full and solid, not clicky or clangly at all
