pickups for korina body?

hello im building a fretless costum bass and i need help choosing pickups and electrnics' i'm going for a korina body,ebony foingerboard,and maple neck.

here are my questions:
1. i want a to have the korina tone, but i dont know whcih pickups should i use to complement the body tone, plus i want this guitar to have a varied sound(but not a slap-pull sound) just not to warm and muddy, with 3 band electonics.

2.i dont know whether to use a maple bolt-on neck or thuru-neck because i want to know how they influence my body tone?

(Nearly) all pickups are made like that.

All basses can produce varied sounds, with ordinary pickups, the simplest of electronics and variations in how you play the instrument. You could borrow your favorite bassist's bass, play it through his rig, and you will not get the same sounds unless you play the same way he does.

I bet he already got a headache xD!!!! but oh c'mon. . lets simplify him the things... Pickups and electronics (onboard preamp) wil help the wood to deliver a defined scale of tones might be bright, punchy, low or whatever you could call every one, but You as the player will be the main factor to determine how will they armonize, your FEELING in my opinion is the mos important factor here so that way is how You could get the sound You desire. That's just MHO.

P.S. Don't forget that your amp rig has a lot to do too in sound, clarity and tonal range thingy!

In case you didn't understand it in all the above posts:

Forget about the "tonal properties" of Korina. Just build the damn bass and do your research on what electronics you want to give you the level of "brightness" or whatever you want.

i dont need to frget abou the tonal properties of krina because there are place where they produce pickups int different level of brightness, thats why i need to match korina and the pickups,
anyway back to my last question, korina has a lack of treble?

Phil is right, deciding what pickups for the wood you're using is a waste of time. The pre-amp is going to have the most important factor in "brightness" and there are many other variables in the build besides the body wood that will affect the overall tone. From the metal used in the bridge to the material used for the nut to the kinds of strings you'll be using. Your best bet is to build the thing and experiment with each of these variables. Worrying about what pickups to use according to the wood on your project is only going to waste precious build time. ;)

stav288, one other important factor you may not be considering is the actual weight of the limba (black or white by the way) piece. Some are heavy and some are light and some are in the middle. If you believe your tone will come from the wood, then you must also acknowledge your tone will vary depending on the actual piece of limba you use? You'll need to get the limba first and then decide what pickups will give you your "korina tone", no?
