Pickups loosing power Gibson Q80

i think there is some sort of short between the pickups neck pick on its own is massive when I turn up the bridge pickup I lose a little bit of sound and the Bridge pickup is not as loud as the neck, could this be a capacitor problem or some sort of short between the two? It's joy to play and has a thunderous sound just want to solve the issue. It is not massive difference but it is noticeable.

Is it V/V/T?

Common symptom of basses that have neck and bridge pickup with that configuration.

Both pups sound more powerful by themselves than when used together.

Hi not sure what v/v/t is.

Yes I have heard this however there may be a short or the capacitor may need replacing as the bridge pup is quieter by itself someone suggeted raising the bridge pup but that's not the issue.

It refers to the control knob layout: Volume, Volume, (master) Tone Control. As Zen G explained, it it normal for there to be a slight volume loss when both pickups are dialed to "100%". All the capacitor does is to drain away treble frequencies to ground as you turn down the tone control. If you had a problem with your tone capacitor then your tone control wouldn't work at all, or work as a second volume control.
