Absolutely, but toaster pickups still look (and, sound) the best!You should look at all pickups with your ears rather than your eyes. The difference you hear is of more value to you in evaluating them than their visual appearance.
Because bigger is better. Just ask my ... er... never mind.
F***ing magnets. How do they work?
I've come to the conclusion that some makers put in extra wide pickups to dissuade those who Mod from replacing their pickups.
Oversized pickups are harder to replace.
Why else would they use a pickup that's wide enough for two extra strings?
