I' looking to build a faux-archtop bass with F-holes and a trapeze tailpiece and I'd like to see your pix from which to draw inpiration.

I can't find anything at all on line, but I played a festival, the guy who backed up Frank Frost was playing a Gibson archtop bass, I asked him about it, said it was an ES175B, I think it was a one off made for him. It was tobacco sunburst and gorgeous. Sorry I couldn't find a pic for you but it was exactly as you described.

There are a few in the semi-hollow club that may give you some ideas, but they are mostly bridged and not arched. I could have sworn there was an archtop club, or something similar, but can't find it.

Here is my 60s Bartell Hohner. More of a semihollow but has some elements of an archtop.

Check out the hofner senators and presidents at this link...I always thought they were the coolest looking, old style, archtop style basses ever...especially in natural
