i found this on le bay (a little french for you)
and wondered what is this and what does it do to the sound?

piezo = think modern day acoustic guitar tone.. Kinda Quacky with treble bite and im going to go out on a limb here and assume it will be pretty brittle on that bridge especially without a buffer.

On a fretted? Usually. With the right pre-amp and EQ, they're manageable.

if this fits a Fender Jazz without making any new holes I'll try it and report back. I emailed the seller about fitment

I haven't tried that particular bridge piezo product, but the ones on my basses sound great. One has the old ABM piezo with a Bartolini buffer, the other has a complete RMC piezo / buffer system. And the acoustic-like sound is very nice, particularily for the softer songs.
