Spencer and Darkglass are no longer working together. I'm not going to rehash it here (nor do I know all of the details) but the short version is that it didn't end all that well, and Spencer loudly voiced his displeasure while Doug largely took the high road, IMO and FWIW.

But wow, I thought that had all died down and I did not expect Spencer to do something this brazen.

3leaf = JHS for the bass world?

i dont think so, I still think Spencer make brilliant products,
his wonderlove, proton, your doom, octavbre are all great unique product IMO,
even the enabler i thought is awesome, he added headphone out even before the ampeg stvdi is out.

But to literally build a pedal that resemble the other product that we love so closely... i just dont get the thinking process behind it...because i still love his 3leaf product design.

The Vulcan XL looks a lot like the B7K, but the standard Vulcan is laid out like a Darkglass Vintage, not a B3K.

Then again it would be weird to have 2 differently voiced pedals both called the Vulcan. Also the fact they can take 18v suggest they aren't straight clones.

Why has Spencer started a new company Pike instead of just making them 3Leaf pedals? Unless he wanted to piss off Doug without tarnishing the reputation of 3Leaf.

If he is so brilliant, why is he pretty much ripping DG designs off and selling them as his own??

I have no doubt, Spencer knows his poopie. The dude is a great builder and engineer. Designer even. But why go backwards?! He has built some incredible things and did some wonderful things with Doug at DG when they worked together, I dont understand why he would take a, rather nasty, step sideways. Backwards even. Really bogus IMO.

Which exactly my point, wth is he thinking. He knew how to built pedals! We all knew he knew how to built pedals so wth is he doing? This business move doesn't make any single sense.
