I just got a new bass, and I've decided to upgrade my squire fender. I'm open to anything since I probably won't play it much again unless I make it unique in some way. I'll add a picture if someone tells me how. It's something to do with surrounding it with .bmp right?

i had this same post, with the same name if i recall, and i got hated on because apparently your supposed to be born knowing what upgrades to do. so watch out.

p or j bass? the badass II is a good start. sd quarter pounder pick ups if its a p and dimarzio j if its a jazz. schaller machine heads are a good choice.
To post a picture online, you should not use BMP. Use JPGs (what most digital cameras use by default) and then use the Attach function of the TB forum in "Go Advanced" to upload the pictures.
If your'e not going to play it much, sell it on the cheap to a kid who wants to play bass and needs a good deal.
How much does an average re-painting cost, and any recommended colors. Also, how much would a new pick guard cost? Does defretting cost much, or is it cheaper to buy an already fretless one? Lastly, what does everybody think about adding a whammy bar to a bass. I've done some research and it seems pretty expensive. Most whammy bar capable bridges I found are like $500+, or in other words, 5 times the price of my bass. Some are really cheap but I figure they would mess up my bass. Does any one know of cheap bridges that wouldn't completely screw up my bass?
