I love the sound of a slapped P-bass. That said, most people prefer the sound of a bridge pup when slapping. So, have your P-bass converted to a PJ-bass.

Because i feel like posting on topic, I will. I sorta did the same thing. But eventually i cracked my body, so I won't reconmend drilling into your body. Here's what I did.
1. Graphite hard ware (Saddles- Nut- Tree)
2. Gotoh Brigde (201) i like it, some don't
3. EMG P/J Set (If i did it again I'd get Barts w/ a Bart Pre-amp)
4. Now I'm warmoth'n it, new body and neck.

Or... make it an "expression" bass. That's what i've done to my purple bass, looks like hell now, but eventually it'll be pretty (hopefully).

Yea i kinda want the bass to be...."unique"..."different" yet at the same time i want it to sound good too. Any1 know any REALLY REALLY cheap basses out there that i can screw around with? Like anythiing less than 50 bucks n stuff i dont care what condition as long as it plays. Im gonna open it up and dismember it anyways for the fun of it......"Anatomy of a bass." lol

50 bucks or less of pimpin' doesn't do that cheezy term justice.

It reminds me of the guys who buy a Neon and put on cheap rims, stick on chrome trim and self-applied window tint.
