I don't mind telling
first I sanded down original design (after stripping the parts etc) then flattened myrtle veneer with wood softener.
epoxy together on a flat cutting board, dry, carve out rough cut.
drilled out the original holes from the inside out. sanded down the edges of wood to be pretty.
at first i left the sides black but i screwed up & sanded too much off while sanding the wood so i just sanded the rest. turns out i like the sanded metal better.
