Pino was pretty low key, but he sounded just like the album. D'Angelo's band is a hell of a lot tighter than his waist these days!

Yeah, I don't think he'll be doing another shirtless video anytime soon.

What was he playing? Looked like a P-Bass with two soapbar pickups? Think I spotted the Lakland bridgepiece too

Give this a go: http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/...ful-performance-on-saturday-night-live-watch/Hmm, that's interesting. I didn't notice that, but I only had a quick glance during both sets (everything but his head was pretty well hidden behind the male backup singers, LOL). In the first set he seemed to be playing his fiesta red and tort pickguard P Bass, but on the second set I thought I just noticed a red P Bass with a white pickguard and a maple fretboard.
The only video on youtube I found right now was a homemade video of the first set and the quality is not good enough to tell, but I'm sure some better videos will come out shortly.
EDIT TO ADD: Just saw Mstins comment, guess it wasn't a P in the second set. I'm looking forward to seeing the set again. There are some videos released by NBC but it seems like they aren't viewable outside of the US.
