Ive also fell in love with sweetwater. I love having my own guy to work with and get deals.
Tip dont order from the website... I have not yet failed in getting a discount from my guy on items I wanted.
Nice. Another example of cultural sensitivity, presumably by a stoopid American.![]()
Contact MF. They will arrange for prepaid return shipping and will either send refund or replacement as you choose. Only had one damaged product from MF in the 15 plus yrs Ive bought from them. They covered return shipping via prepaid ups label, No problem.
This aint my first online experience. and i know big companies make mistakes and so. No a great discovery over here. My point is that it was clearly a DEFECTIVE unit, packaged so poorly... that led me think whether they KNEW what they were restocking. Thats deceiving costumers. I have bought new, b-stock and so.. and i know what to expect.. but this kind of pist me off..shipping problems are in other category.. no selling defective units as new :scowl:
I'm not saying MF is a bad company and they won't get any more of my business. They will. Whether or not the bass was damaged is irrelevant. Shipping something that's clearly been packed incorrectly isn't ok. It's like a restaurant serving a steak with a thumbtack in it. They didn't make the steak, they bought from the butcher. Is it just the butchers fault? Or the restaurants fault for serving a steak with a tack in it. The customer may have eaten around the thumbtack and went home happy. It's still not ok.
I have only had one 'conflict' with MF and I did not get the outcome I was hoping for. Otherwise I have had no issues. For reasons other than the one noted above, I have made it my policy to try NOT to buy from the big box places. For any future purchases I will do what I can to support brick and mortar stores, either locally or regionally.
I stopped going through MF last Christmas when a tube arrived broken out of a set of four. I called, because in the past they'd made things OK, and was told to get a return shipping label from UPS. Who told me I'd need a return authorization from MF. Who told me I needed to start the claims process with UPS first. Who said they couldn't do anything without a return order from MF. All this just to make sure it got returned and exchanged correctly, they never once offered to pay for return shipping.
Bottom line, by the time I got my paperwork sorted out, the return period had expired and I was told they'd no longer accept the package. Look, I understand things happen, but I was treated poorly by customer service, not a shipping mistake. I also started having as little to do with UPS as I could over it, Fedex or USPS all the way.
Thanks for nothing, guys. I started ordering every little thing through Sweetwater. Of course these days when I want something I order it through my own store![]()
Maybe things wouldn't get bad at times if people would commit to their purchases, instead of being perpetual tire kickers by buying up new gear and quickly making more used gear inventory for the retailers with their incessant returns.
That sounds like a lot of hoops you shouldn't have to jump through. Email me, I'll make sure we get this taken care of for you. That email again is [email protected].
So glad this worked out for you. Of course the cost of your 'free' rental; was paid by those of us who actually BUY things from GC.
But it worked out for you and that's the main thing.![]()
I buy a ton of stuff from both sweetwater and MF and also if I absolutely must GC. GC in my opinion is a stain on the industry. I normally try stuff there and then get a better price online.
I often pit them together to get the best deal since unfortunately I have to pay sales tax from both companies.
I still dont feel bad.Ive only done that a couple times.
Thats capitalism at its best. They dont have to keep the policy but since they do Ill use it if I please. I can shop there and buy elsewhere if I choose. I love America.
