Nothing sound better than a PJ to my ears.

It's awesome.

I'm probably getting an SX PJ soon, and I have a question for the PJ club:
What are your favorite settings on the PJ? Obviously there is all J, all P, and both at full. Do you find uses for any of the more blended settings? I'd heard some people get the best sounds out of a J by cranking both p'ups and then turning down one or the other of them a bit to bring out the mids more. Anyone here doing something like that with a PJ?

If you are talking about the Duff model...those are/were Volume-Volume-Master TBX Tone Control with pickup selector switch. On an old MIJ Fender PJ special, if it has three knobs and a switch, is that volume/volume/tone and a pickup switch? Or did they also come active?
I don't think it's a Duff. Unless that came in pewter/sickly diarrhea green. Were there non-Duff models that were active? If you are talking about the Duff model...those are/were volume-volume-Master TBX tone control with pickup selector switch.
I've seen this on lots of basses, but what's the point of dual volume control and a pickup switch? It seems kinda redundant.I think all the Jazz Bass Specials are configured that way. Duff was playing them before he was a formal endorser.
They did do a "Power Jazz Bass Special" that had an active circuit I think... it had two switches and a different knob layout.I think all the Jazz Bass Specials are configured that way. Duff was playing them before he was a formal endorser.
You could set your blend and then solo either pickup without having to re-blend.I've seen this on lots of basses, but what's the point of dual volume control and a pickup switch? It seems kinda redundant.
