PJ on a jazz body.

my amigo jeff andrews plays a p with a p and j pup. the neck width is a "d" precision neck from the 60s and one of the best basses ive played. see it here....

i think its present incarnation has a master pan, master volume and tone.
its a great configuration also consider a 3 way switch and a master volume and tone (which I have on my kallas 66 jazz)

Recently picked up a Road Worn Jazz that was modded into a p/j. I just changed the p pickup to an actual road worn 50s one that I scored on here, replacing the 62 RI that the bass's original owner put in when doing the mod.

The pic has the original 62 Precision pickup in it. Picture was taken before I changed it.

Here she is:

I'm considering a PJ and can't decide between P and J body!

Thing is I'm going for PJT in the sense I'm going to add a Telecaster neck headstock on a Jazz neck, so maybe I need a P body. Hmmmm

I actually prefer the shape of P bodies - so maybe that's the way to go: P body, J neck T headstock. With a PJ pickup configuration obviously!

Anyone think I'm mad?

Pudge that is beautiful wood, what kind is it? It would be a shame to cover it with plastic. Almost has a camo kinda thing goin' on. Where did it come from?

This body black korina or black limba.I bought this in the classifieds, the price was right.A big plus is it weighs 4 lbs.I'll prob. load it with dimarzios,if it was a straight jazz rout it would be getting bardens i have.
