Pj still plays though amp with knobs turned off??

I recently routed and wired in a j pup into a p style bass. I wired it in a jazz configuration vvt.
While it sounds good when I turn all knobs to off I'm still getting sound through the amp when I play and further more the tone knob is increasing and decreasing volume with the volume knobs off.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?
I need help!!

Yeah that's how I wired it I've done jazz wiring a few times before and never had a problem like this.
I'll Double double check tomorrow. But if it is the right wiring any thoughts?

Does it stay at a constant volume?

You did not ground the pots properly. That is the only explanation, because properly grounded volume pots will reduce output impedance to approach zero, when turned down.
