Plan to order an Emperor cab this weekend

I haven't decided between a 4x12 or 6x12.

What I absolutely can't decide on is should I have it ported or sealed. I guess I just don't know what the difference in sound would be.

I will be using a Peavey Classic 400 with this.

I have a Bergantino NV610 and love it and it's sealed so.....



to port or not?!?!

the difference will be the ported cab will go lower but the sealed cab will sound a little tighter. me, i'd go sealed, but ported cabs also rock.

I'm guessing the difference wont be all that much and I know I like the sound of a sealed cab. I guess stick with what I know.

Acutally the difference can be quite a bit. In an appropriately sized box, a port can really help extend that low end. You "up" the bass more, in exchange for a perceived loss in focus...again though, not really in a good cab.

Emperor makes quality stuff...I would go ported.
