playback bands

that's not the kind of enviroment that im used to be and i've never played in a wedding but i believe i wont play electronic on a wedding being honest.
i cant see what are you playing, all that i listen of the video was almost all of playback. but all the issue i was arguing was about the SHOW that involves a playback over a band playing. i guess it changes when its a wedding

@Palomo , I'm not sure if I understand your point about not playing electronic, although I understand that you don't like it in general. I like playing live as well but when I'm not in charge I do the job that I'm asked (and paid) to do. You are right that you are hearing a lot of playback though, I am playing along with the synth bass part that's on the track. I enjoy that because it makes me have to be consistent and learn the nuances of the song, otherwise I'll muddy things up. I play in another band that does not use tracks at all (even when it might be beneficial) so I just enjoy each gig for what it is.

So you're saying have a dj Rather than a band? If that's your point, consider that this band did over 90 weddings a few years ago, this year it has 6, so DJ's definitely are getting more weddings these days, although there are some bands that are still very busy. That's a whole other topic that I'd rather not get into on the internet.

But I also don't want to give the impression that this band never plays without tracks, there's a balance of songs with tracks and songs without. But again, I'm not the bandleader so which are which is not up to me.

I will always prefer live music, no matter the event, no matter the setting, no matter the music style, whether enhanced with backing tracks or not. Unless the band clearly sucks, I don't know why you'd prefer a DJ, which is two dimension in comparison. It will be cheaper, of course.

if you are asking why do i prefer dj than band it has a very long answer which maybe was the cause of the thread: electronic music and live music. sometimes its a matter of aestethics or just taste, sometimes it's music, arts or knowledge as a dogma. i do have not a preference but any of it has to be good.

@mrufino1 this is a large discussion there are some grays hard to diference but maybe its necesary. there have been some sharing but they're all are jokes unless yours. it sounds nice but i dont recognize what's playing each music because the sequence. that's 1 point to me.

I think we're probably missing each other a little bit, sounds like English is a second language for you. But I'm not angry or without humor about any of it - music isn't worth getting like that, there's too many other things in the world that are serious (I am a therapist in my "day" job so music absolutely needs to be fun for me or I can't do it - I can get plenty of stress from the non music parts of life if I so desire!).

Anyway, I think we are probably more in agreement than it seems from this discussion, but when people want a band, tracks or not, rather than a dj I am happy because it means that I have a gig!

Yes english it's not my first lenguage. i have only been in a english speaking country for a few days. but i have to ask you, have you analized the psycologic matter of what means SHOW? i believe it is near to crazyness.
