Played my 77 Ric for the entire gig

Exactly why is this a shock! This is what this bass is *supposed* to do!

In '77, a Ric was pretty much the premium bass there was - anywhere.

Well said. My band mates and I have been amazed at how good it still sounds! I have an 83 Jazz an 81 Ibanez Musician and a really nice Fretless with a custom neck none of those are slouches, I do love playing the Jazz and Fretless but that Ric looks awesome sounds huge, and is a really fast playing neck. I've still got The Ric-O-Sound box but haven't played it in stereo yet.

Just out of curiosity, why haven't you been gigging with it?

Stopped playing for about 19 years, finally got nagged into playing again and once I started playing again realized how much I missed. Only had a couple of basses I hadn't gotten rid of, no amp, had to start from scratch. Started playing mostly the Jazz to start. Played The Ric a little but really hadn't thought the guys I've played with would be into The Ric. Apparently I was wrong. Probably sorry you asked now huh?
