I just entered the wonderful world of steady gigging. Which I understand is quite the wallet emptier. I just need a sort of checklist for the items i need for the best live show, for bass. Money is not an issue, i just need to know all the things you need for a good show.

Well put, I'd add that the DI is optional too, any sound company worth it's salt will have several of their own and usually insist on using theirs no matter what your latest and greatest DI is. Even if you're playing the local club that has it's own PA, whoever is running it likely has a DI they are used to using in that club and would prefer it over whatever you have.
For the best live show, it'd be more like 750 watts and up, with a 410 cab, minimum.
750 watts? Well, I guess it's better to have too much power than not enough, but I've played extremely loud gigs with nothing more than an SVT and still had headroom.
Well, when JimmyM mentioned 300 watts, he was probably referring to solid-state watts....the SVT output is closer (in sheer hear-power) to a 750-watt solid state amp...I have played an SVT through an Ampeg 8x10 (don't remember which one though) next to an SWR SM750 through a Megoliath and they were remarkably similar in overall sonic value....
{edit} Before the flaming starts: I am not talking about TONE here...just perceived bass volume at similar output levels.
Well i'm planning on getting a 4x10 Behringer Cabinet, says it handles 1,200 watts. An Ampeg SVT-6PRO 1100 Watt Tube/Solid State Bass Head, what cables do you need to connect the head to the cabinet, regular 1/4" or what? Is this setup sufficient?
