Playing Melodically

Well, I have a ton of Technique in my playing and I can do anything from slap a triplet to double thumb a sixteenth note, but I don't want my playing to be all technique based. So i posed myself the question how and well melodic playing seems to be the answer. I do know my theory pretty well so if you can explain it using theory terms, I'd be forever grateful.

I think the answer goes into finding yourself as a musician.
Let the "you" use the technique to "talk" through your instrument.
The idea of playing music is to express yourself,so probably now is the time for you find and understand who you are and what you want to say.
Technique alone is like knowing all the words but still not knowing how to put your thoughts into words.
There are tons of examples of lesser technical players but with tons of "things to say",which makes them great players.
I would suggest to set your next target to add elements of other instruments into your playing, like sax melodies, find transcriptions from those and see where they lead you.

IMO to play melodically we must understand how to write /compose melodies.

That book has been around since 1900 and people keep talking about it. The first 30 pages will get you started.

Have fun.

This is a fantastic resource. Thanks!
