Playing through multiple amps

So I've got a BL 600 and a avatar 212, it's a killer set up but I also have my little practice amp from when I first started, it got really good treble. Is there a way to hook them up together and play through both simultaneously? I was thinking maybe a Y-splitter through the effects loop, then plug the small amp into on of the outputs.

--FX return
FX send---<
--Practice amp
(excuse crappy diagram)
Would this work?

I was considering doing this running my cleans through the markbass and cabs (currently SWR, but soon to be replaced by a 112 stack) then run a "really expensive distortion pedal" through a tube head into my mesa 212. But then I realized this is probably completely overkill... not to say I won't try it, haha.

But yeah, ABY is definitely the way to go...

you want both amps blended into the same cab? i'm using a boss ls-2 for this purpose, connection is a bit more complex than what you listed but easy and it works great.

if you simply want to run two amps simulataneously with different cabs then send a line from the tuner out of the BL600 into the input of the second amp - done.
