Robben Ford does an interesting cover of this Animals classic. The bass line has lots of double stops. Also, there's lots of open space in the bass line during the verses, which creates a nice contrast with the rest of the song. The "please don't let me be misunderstood" part of the vocals is a 3/4 measure, whereas the rest of the song is 4/4.
