Please get rid of the Google popover ads

These just started and they crowd the content here. They used to stay in the gutters and out of the way, now they are obtrusive and annoying.

Lol you're using an amazing website for free.

Running a website, especially one of this size, requires money.

In order to take in money for such operations, any traffic-driven website has two options: Sell advertising or charge users.

This amazing website has gone so far as to give you the option.

You have chosen to not pay for a membership, so now the website must sell ads to host your account. You are then shown these ads in an attempt to get you to pay for a membership.

And now here we are.

ads are fine. But some are pretty obstructive. I've had them crash the browser on my older backup phone

Nah... That's not the way to resolve this.

Currently the site is FAR worse as it relates to ads than it was previously for non-paid members. I hope they fix it, because its a mess right now.

They had to tweak the old site to keep ads under control, and they did. I expect they'll get it under control here, too.

Yes, horrific!!! I'm starting to regret my lifetime subscription: the screenshot below has FOUR, yes FOUR active animations crowding the content.
And if I pause that giant icecream bar video ad, it starts up again the minute I scroll the page even a nanometer!
Aside from the uber-annoyance factor,
I dont need pages like this sucking up all the bandwidth out of our internet connection ( have a few people in the house who need to share it, ya know...)
