Please help a noob

so this is just part of a bass line, it was the first anyone showed me how to play and I would like to be able to find the song name so I can fine the rest of the tabs. (this may be off an octave or may just be a little off in general.) like I said it's just something someone showed me and told me it was a song from some band but that was years ago so if anyone knows the song and could tell me that would be great!
(and like I said I'm a noob and don't know how to write tabs so that's the best I could do thanks)

Are you really sure that is all you got, is there a rock/pop/funk/soul/jazz song? Or maybe you could tell me(us?) if there was a known song back when you learned it?

I think it's rock, I thought it was metallica for the longest time but I have been going through all bass lines I can find on youtube and nothing sounds like this. I know it's not much to go on it was just something simple a buddy showed me like the first month I got my first bass to show me something cool I could play.

you'd be better of to upload a clip of how you play it ....trying to guess without a clue to the rhythm would be a tough one

Which seems very similar to what your describing
